wellbeing @ eeps

Every day at Eltham East Primary School (EEPS) students and staff learn and grow together, through connection, play and collaboration. The core of our teaching and learning at EEPS is child-centred wellbeing. As educators we know and understand when children are healthy, happy and socially connected their emotional literacy increases and they can engage and sustain a positive relationship with education, allowing joy and growth to occur in the learning environment.

Our daily approach to balancing holistic wellbeing and wellbeing-for-learning can be seen, heard and felt through our interactions. We model and teach our students a deep understanding of the feelings of self and others, through weaving social and emotional learning opportunities into our teaching allowing children to make connections between their learning, community and wellbeing.

We understand and respect each child as a unique individual. We nurture the development of social and emotional values that will be equally important in adulthood as childhood through the personal competencies of:

-        Growth Mindset

-        Emotional Literacy

-        Critical Thinking

-        Self-Expression

-        Self-Awareness

-        Independent Learning
